Early childhood is that special period that shapes a child's future. Our Russian-immersion daycare in Sudbury, Massachusetts strives to provide a wholesome environment for every child, welcoming families from across the MetroWest area. A balance of free play, educational games, story time, music, art and ample outdoor time fosters our children's physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth.
We strive to foster independence and self-esteem while nurturing each child's imagination and sense of community. We also use a combination of teacher-lead and child-initiated activities.
Our program helps create a relationship between the child and nature. The kids enjoy nature walks, forest and lake exploration. We want for our children who live in the fast-changing and technological world to know the smell of freshly cooked food, hear the crunch of snow underfoot, feel the smell of the air after rain, and run barefoot on the grass.
Tot family daycare successfully prepares children for kindergarten while building important skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, emotional intelligence, empathy, and cultural competence. Tot Family Daycare is a Russian-immersion program. We pay special attention to language development, incorporating literature, music and dance, traditional holidays and ethnic food into our program.

We use a thematic approach to language development. A theme (“Animals,” “Sea Life,” “Seasons,” “Bears,” “Professions”) usually incorporates a selection of pictures, books, manipulatives, educational games, puppets, and flannel board kits used to promote your child's vocabulary.

Children are given a variety of dress-up clothes, props, and masks to practice role playing and reenact familiar stories. Playing firefighters, construction workers, princesses, and fairies are among the most popular.

Children are introduced to a variety of music – classical, jazz, children's, and folk – and we listen to and discuss the different sounds around us. Kids play simple music instruments, enjoy movement games, sing songs, and dance with scarves and ribbons. We also draw the music and moods that different songs create.

ToT Family Daycare is located in a single-family home in a green and quiet Sudbury neighborhood. The daycare has a classroom with lots of educational materials, a playroom with ample amounts of toys for various interests, separate bedroom and gym area, gated outdoor sun-shade playground with artificial grass and a new play structure, a specious sandbox and a vegetable and herb gardens.
A small and warm family-type setting works great for the little one's self-esteem, encourages the love of learning, and prepares the child for future life in the community.
Our home daycare environment allows us to serve various families – those who seek full-time reliable childcare and those who seek part-time care to acclimate their child to a group setting and enrich his or her experience.
My name is Ekaterina Taradai and I am a seasoned educator with 20 years of experience. I am a graduate of St.Petersburg Teachers' Training University, Russia with a major in early childhood education and psychology and a minor in English.
It has always been my dream to have my own day care. In June 2007 I made my dream a reality and opened ToT Family Daycare, and became a family daycare provider licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care. In my free time I like to spend time with my family and my dog, go biking, canoeing, reading, and making flower arrangements.
